UNSW Health Translation Hub
The UNSW Health Translation Hub is a landmark health-sector development in Randwick, NSW, delivered under a $6 million contract for Hansen Yuncken. The project involved complex landscape and civil works, with a strong focus on quality, durability, and architectural precision to support research, collaboration, and public interaction.
Works included extensive demolition and civil construction such as concrete works, kerb and gutter, blinding slabs, and a soil vault system to support long-term tree health. Over 4,500 square metres of paving were installed, along with more than 500 linear metres of corten steel edging and walling.
The landscape incorporates over 4,500 plants, custom-designed furniture and decking, and high-end finishes including stainless steel grated drainage, Class 2 off-form concrete FRP walls, and decorative precast elements. A bespoke water feature and premium granite and travertine were also delivered. The completed works provide a cohesive, high-quality external environment befitting a leading health and research facility.
