Beamont Hills Park
Leathwood was contracted as principal contractor to transform an underutilised space beneath the Northwest Metro’s driverless train line into a dynamic urban park as part of the NSW Government’s ‘Parks for People’ initiative. The project began with site regrading and a new drainage system to prevent flooding, followed by the full construction of a skate park, BMX pump track, and multi‑purpose courts to encourage active outdoor recreation.
Custom-designed furniture and concrete footpaths were integrated with sensitivity to the surrounding heritage elements, blending modern infrastructure with historical significance. Remediation work with contaminated fill was completed along with major bulk cut and fill of the site, 22,200 native plants were installed, enhancing local biodiversity while ensuring a sustainable, accessible green space. This project sets a benchmark for urban park design, creating a lasting community asset that promotes environmental and social well-being.
